Questo cd riunisce due album del grande sassofonista Gene Ammons: “Blu Groove” (Prestige MPP2514), che appare qui su CD per la prima volta in assoluto, e “Preachin’” (Prestige ST7270). Entrambi gli album sono stati registrati nel 1962 e vedono la partecipazione di Clarence “Sleepy” Anderson all’organo e pianoforte. Registrato l’anno precedente, il brano “Namely You” che vede di nuovo Ammons affiancato da Anderson, è stato aggiunto qui come bonus in modo da includere tutte le registrazioni esistenti di Ammons con Anderson all’organo.
