Il leggendario Johnny Burnette (morto tragicamente in un incidente in barca nel 1964) è stato uno dei più energici ed importanti pionieri del rock & roll. Con il “Rock’n’Roll Trio” ha rivoluzionato il rockabilly come i suoi contemporanei Carl Perkins e Elvis Presley. Il trio si sciolse nel 1957 e successivamente Johnny è diventato famoso con gemme rock e pop come “You’re Sixteen”, “Dreamin’” e “Little Boy Sad”. Questo cd riunisce due dei migliori album di Burnette di quel periodo, originariamente pubblicati nel 1961 dall’etichetta Liberty: il suo terzo album omonimo, “Johnny Burnette”, e “Johnny Burnette Sings”. Questi due capolavori sono stati rimasterizzati per questa edizione speciale che comprende anche 6 bonus tracks.
