Questo cd contiene l’album originale The Art Tatum Trio (Verve MGV-8118) che vede il superbo pianista accompagnato dal bassista Red Callender e dal grande batterista Jo Jones (questa è la loro unica collaborazione in studio esistente). Questa fu tra le ultime sessioni registrate da Tatum, che sarebbe morto il 5 novembre 1956 all’età di 47 anni. Come bonus sono state incluse diverse versioni alternatve dei brani presenti nell’album.
