Urban Clifford “Urbie” Green è un trombonista jazz americano che ha suonato tra gli altri con Woody Herman, Gene Krupa, Jan Savitt, e Frankie Carle. Ha suonato in oltre 250 registrazioni e ha pubblicato più di due dozzine di album come solista diventando un punto di riferimento del trombone nel jazz. Il suono del trombone di Green è particolarmente apprezzato per il suo calore e il tono morbido anche nei registri più alti dove è più fluente della maggior parte dei suoi colleghi. Questa pubblicazione riunisce tutte registrazioni della favolosa Urbie Green Big Band degli anni Cinquanta.
