Questo doppio cd riunisce tutte le registrazioni in studio esistenti del leggendario Slide Hampton Octet con Freddie Hubbard e Booker Little. Sono inclusi qui gli LP: Slide Hampton and His Horn of Plenty” (Strand SLS-1006), che vede la partecipazione sia di Hubbard che di Little, e “Sister Salvation” (Atlantic LP-1339) con il solo Hubbard. Come bonus, sono state aggiunte tre tracce di Hampton in nonetto (di nuovo con Hubbard), oltre a due album completi dell’Hampton Octet con altri trombettisti: “Two Sides of Slide” (Charlie Parker Records CP-805) e “Somethin’ Sanctified” (Atlantic SD-1362).
