La AVID ha realizzato un raffinato catalogo di album di musica country classica che vanno dai tempi di leggende come Jimmy Rodgers e Hank Williams, passando per gli anni Cinquanta con Hank Thompson, Jean Shepard, Patsy Cline e Webb Pierce fino alla fine Anni Cinquanta e i primi anni Sessanta con Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins e persino Slim Whitman. All’inizio è stata rivolta maggiore attenzione ai nominativi leggendari della musica country, quelli che tutti conoscono, le vere leggende, Hank, Jimmie, Patsy ecc. Ma dopo un’analisi più profonda l’Avid si è resa conto che la musica country traboccava di grandi nomi. E il nome di Hank Snow è quello che è spiccato all’attenzione per la realizzazione di questa raccolta. 140 album e 85 singoli in classifica parlano da soli: Snow, nato in Nuova Scozia, Canada nel 1914, è diventato una leggenda della musica country americana nel corso di una carriera durata più di 50 anni. Non solo un bravo cantante, ma un eccellente cantautore. Alcuni dei suoi successi presenti nelle selezioni Avid che sicuramente piaceranno agli ascoltatori: il suo classico primo numero uno del 1950- ‘I’m Movin’ On’, oltre ad altri come ‘Rhumba Boogie’, ‘Golden Rocket’ e ‘Can’t Hai Blues’.
