L’etichetta Avid presenta un nuovo volume della sua collana Four Classic Albums dedicato a June Christy. Questo doppio cd, completo di grafiche e note di copertina originali, include gli album: “Something Cool”; “Misty Miss Christy”; “Gone For The Day” and “Ballads For Night People”. June Christy iniziò la sua carriera di cantante a soli tredici anni quando si unì all’orchestra di Bill Oetzel. Nel 1945, dopo aver sentito che Anita O’Day avrebbe lasciato la Stan Kenton Orchestra, fece un’audizione e ottenne con successo il ruolo che l’avrebbe portata alla celebrità. Nel corso degli anni Quaranta e Cinquanta ha suonato e registrato con l’orchestra di Kenton ed ha iniziato la sua carriera da solista. I primi tre album qui proposti sono stati arrangiati e diretti dal suo collaboratore di lunga data Pete Rugolo, mentre il quarto da suo marito Bob Cooper.
