Il sassofonista Lester Young è stato certamente uno dei musicisti jazz più influenti della sua epoca e in qualche modo ha incarnato l’archetipo del musicista cool jazz. In questi album lo si può apprezzare affiancato da altri grandi musicisti tra cui Oscar Peterson, Buddy Rich, Nat King Cole, Teddy Wilson e Harry “Sweets” Edison.
