Questo CD contiene la colonna sonora originale composta da Nelson Riddle e Bob Harris per il film “Lolita” di Stanley Kubrick del 1962.
Questa black comedy-drama angloamericana, basata sull’omonimo romanzo di Vladimir Nabokov, racconta la storia di un uomo di mezza età che si invaghisce di un’adolescente.
L’attrice che interpretò Lolita, Susie Lyon, vinse il Golden Globe come “Most Promising Newcomer”.
La colonna sonora fu quasi interamente composta da Nelson Riddle (Bob Harris firmò soltanto il tema principale), che era diventato famoso per il suo lavoro alla Capitol records con cantanti come Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Judy Garland, Dean Martin e Peggy Lee.
Come bonus è stato aggiunto l’album di Riddle “The Tender Touch” (Capitol Records T-753) nella sua interezza.
