Dopo decenni di carriera (con i Delaware Destroyers), George Thorogood imbraccia la chitarra (cui talvolta aggiunge anche l’armonica) e incide il suo primo album in completa solitudine. Attingendo al repertorio dei maestri che ama da sempre (John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, Brownie McGhee, Willie Dixon, Elmore James e i Rolling Stones, ma anche Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash e Hank Williams) Thorogood realizza un disco scabro, essenziale, nel più duro e puro spirito del folk americano (blues, e non solo).
