SOUNDS OF THE FORGOTTEN

WITHERFALL si sono formati a Los Angeles nel 2013. Joseph Michael (voce – anche nei Sanctuary) e Jake Dreyer (chitarra – ex-Iced Earth/Demons & Wizards) hanno costruito la loro nuova band attorno al batterista Adam Sagan (RIP) e all’affermato bassista Anthony Crawford (Allan Holdsworth, CHON). Da allora, il gruppo ha pubblicato tre album molto apprezzati: “Nocturnes And Requiems” (2017), “A Prelude To Sorrow” (2018) e “Curse Of Autumn” (2021 – dove suona il tentacolare batterista Marco Minnemann (The Aristocrats, Steven Wilson)) e un EP “Vintage” (2019). È adesso pronto il nuovo album “Sounds Of The Forgotten”, con una formazione rinnovata dal batterista Chris Tsaganeas (Wax Owls) e il polistrumentista Gerry Hirschfeld (Willie Nelson), anche se Minneman suona in un brano come ospite. “”Sounds Of The Forgotten” continua l’evoluzione del sound dei Witherfall, che unisce il POWER METAL americano più aggressivo, quello di Sanctuary, Nevermore, Iced Earth, Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate, Vicious Rumors, Helstar e Metal Church, con arrangiamenti PROG METAL e DARK, tra Symphony X, Control Denied, Evergrey e Kamelot! Il risultato è un album aggressivo, d’impatto fortemente US POWER METAL ma variegato da atmosfere oscure e melodie malinconiche, suonate con maestria tecnica e con un cantante che rievoca i fasti epici di Rob Halford, Ronnie James Dio e Warrel Dane!
