Questa doppio cd riunisce tutte le registrazioni conservate della grande Billie Holiday alla Carnegie Hall di New York, coprendo gli anni che vanno dal 1946 al 1956. Il primo CD inizia con il suo più celebre concerto alla Carnegie Hall, registrato il 10 novembre 1956 e pubblicato sull’album “The Essential Billie Holiday – Carnegie Concert Hall” (Verve V-8410), seguono tutte le altre registrazioni, alcune delle quali molto rare. Come bonus è stato aggiunto uno show radiofonico registrato l’8 novembre 1956 in cui Billie recita i testi di tre delle sue canzoni e viene intervistata riguardo al suo prossimo concerto alla Carnegie Hall. Un’ulteriore bonus track vede Billie Holiday rilassarsi pochi giorni dopo il concerto ad una festa a casa di Leonard Feather (lui è al pianoforte), e cantare un duetto con Helen Merrill.
