Questo triplo cd presenta nella sua interezza la raccolta originariamente pubblicata dalla Columbia su 4 LP: “Fletcher Henderson Story – A Study in Frustration”. Si trattava della prima raccolta dei i migliori lavori del pianista, compositore e direttore d’orchestra Fletcher Henderson che, all’inizio degli anni ‘60, era caduto nell’oblio. Anche se la sua carriera era durata quasi trenta anni e le sue molte band erano state un punto di riferimento per le grandi orchestre degli anni Cinquanta, il suo contributo alla musica del suo tempo era poco conosciuto e questa raccolta volle porvi rimedio. Oltre alle registrazioni originali questa versione in triplo cd include dieci brani bonus che vedono la band Henderson con la partecipazione di Ben Webster, Chu Berry e Roy Eldridge.
