Questa pubblicazione propone l’album “Anita O’Day & The Three Sounds” (Verve V6-8514) che rappresenta l’unica collaborazione della cantante col pianista Gene Harris e che appare qui nella sua interezza per la prima volta in assoluto su CD. L’album vede anche la partecipazione di Simpkins Andy al contrabbasso e Bill Dowdy alla batteria, con il trombettista Roy Eldridge che si unisce al gruppo su due brani, “Whisper Not” e “Let Me off Uptown” ( su questo secondo brano anche nelle vesti di cantante). Come bonus è stato incluso anche l’album “Time for 2” (Verve V6-8472) che rappresenta invece l’unica registrazione di Anita O’Day con Cal Tjader.
