Il viaggio di crescita segue una spirale, che si allarga e si approfondisce continuamente a ogni ciclo. Attenendosi a questo principio spirituale, gli Epica, innovatori del symphonic metal, si sono reinventati con il loro nono lavoro “Aspiral”, pubblicando un album in studio che mostra una band traboccante di una ritrovata gioia nella propria pelle – unita come una squadra, dove ogni membro della band ha portato ispirazione, idee e anni di esperienza nel songwriting. “Aspiral” testimonia questa unità, ma la ripida ascesa della band negli ultimi anni è stata tutt’altro che casuale e ha richiesto un duro lavoro e una combinazione di cose che si sono verificate dopo l’uscita del loro ultimo album ‘Omega’ nel bel mezzo di un’imperversante pandemia. Dopo aver fatto diversi passi fuori dal loro percorso abituale con l’EP “The Alchemy Project”, che li ha visti collaborare con artisti come Myrkur, Fleshgod Apocalypse o Uriah Heep, la band ha suonato un massiccio tour mondiale ed è stata invitata da una certa band chiamata Metallica per diverse date, e ha suonato 4 spettacoli sold out “Symphonic Synergy” con un’orchestra e un coro enormi.
