Questo quadruplo riporta la carriera integrale del gruppo ed è stato curato in prima persona da Sid Griffin e Tom Stevens. I Long Ryders furono messi in piedi da una serie di musicisti americani influenzati da Gram Parsons e Byrds, affascinati al contempo dal country e dal punk rock. La band capitanata da Sid Griffin (chitarra, autoharp ed armonica) prevedeva Stephen McCarthy (chitarra, steel guitar, mandolino e banjo) Des Brewer al basso (poi sostituito da Tom Stevens) e Greg Sowders (batteria e percussioni). Una sorta di bizzarro ibrido tra Clash e Buffalo Springfield, ma con un piglio decisamente più duro e puro, in grandissimo anticipo su quello che sarebbe poi stato l’ alternative country.
