Questo doppio cd presenta l’album di Mahalia Jackson del 1961 “Everytime I Feel the Spirit” (Columbia CS 8443), che appare qui per la prima volta su cd e che contiene una sorprendente interpretazione di “The Love of God”. Come bonus sono stati aggiunti altri due album di Mahalia Jackson da tempo fuori catalogo: “Bless This House” (Columbia CL899) e “The Power and the Glory” (Columbia CL 1473). Il primo è stato registrato nel 1956 e vede tra i suoi punti salienti un fantastico medley di “Summertime” e “Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child”, mentre il secondo è stato registrato nel 1960 e vede la cantante accompagnata dalla famosa orchestra di Percy Faith.
