Questo doppio CD della colla “Avid’s Christmas Classic Album” contiene cinque album Pop a tema natalizio. Le Feste iniziano con il capolavoro di Elvis del 1957 “Elvis’s Christmas Album” in cui Elvis passa da “Blue” a “White Christmas” e conclude con quattro classici gospel in compagnia dei Jordanaires, che comprendono due splendide interpretazioni di “I Believe” e “(There’ll Be) Peace In The Valley”. Segue Bobby Darin con “25th Day of December” del 1960 che tratta in maniera più seria il natale. Si torna al divertimento con un raro album di Bobby Vee del 1962, “Merry Christmas From Bobby Vee” con allegre canzoni di Natale come “Jingle Bell Rock”, “Winter Wonderland” e “Silver Bells”. Poi ancora i Four Seasons con il loro album del 1962 “The Four Seasons Greetings” che dividono l’album in due parti, la prima con brani della tradizione come “What Child Is This” e “The Excelsis Deo Medley”, mentre il secondo concentrato sugli intramontabili canti popolari come “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” e “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”. Ultimo, ma non meno importante è l’album del 1962 “Christmas With The Everly Brothers” in cui vengono interpretate le canzoni di natale più amate di tutti i tempi da “The First Noel” e “Silent Night” a “Hark The Herald Angels Sing” e “O Little Town Of Bethlehem”.
