Live At River Plate è stato registrato, insieme a un film dal vivo diretto da David Mallet, il 4 dicembre 2009 in occasione del secondo dei tre spettacoli sold-out al leggendario River Plate Stadium di San Paolo, in Argentina, durante il Black Ice Tour, davanti a una folla di oltre 60.000 persone. Per onorare i 50 anni di regno degli AC/DC come la più grande rock and roll band del mondo, il catalogo della band sarà disponibile in LP in vinile color oro. Ognuno di questi LP in edizione limitata è accompagnato da una stampa 12 “x12” specifica per l’album, con il nuovo artwork di AC/DC 50, adatto per essere incorniciato.
