Note Informative | Simon Raymonde, fondatore della Bella Union e metà dei Cocteau Twins, ha formato un duo con la cantautrice del Wisconsin Stephanie Dosen, famosa per essere stata lead vocalist nel tour dei Massive Attack del 2008 e per aver cantato nel Further dei Chemical Brothers. La coppia pubblica il loro album d’esordio che è stato anticipato dal singolo Porcelain (reso disponibile sul canale Soundcloud della label il 7 novembre 2013). Tra gli ospiti del disco: Ed O’Brien e Phil Selway (Radiohead), Eric Pulido e McKenzie Smith (Midlake), Paul Gregory (Lanterns on the Lake) e Jonathan Wilson, mentre la copertina ha il tocco inconfondibile di Vaughan Oliver, famoso per aver curato molte copertine di 4AD, comprese quelle di alcuni album dei Cocteau Twins. Raymonde ha dichiarato che Moon è un lavoro molto basato sulla Dosen. “E’ una cantante molto speciale“, ha affermato il musicista, “penso che la semplicità della mia musica sia il perfetto scenario per le sue storie e i suoi incredibili arrangiamenti vocali… … Stephanie è stata la prima cantante con la quale ho lavorato dopo Elizabeth (la Fraser dei Cocteau Twins, ndSA) con cui ho sentito una vera e propria empatia a livello musicale“. |
